4 Romantic London Dates

Whether you are on a first date or out with the missus for your thirtieth wedding anniversary, there is no need to go away and book expensive ski chalets, London provides many romantic locations for that perfect date. Here are the four best romantic places in London for a date.

1. Gothic Graveyards. It may seem strange, but the Victorian graveyards in London are some of the most romantic and peaceful places around. Known for its ornate mausoleums and famous gravesites (Douglas Adams rests here), the Highgate Cemetery is a great place for a romantic walk. But make sure your date isn’t frightened easily as graveyards do carry a certain horror element along with them. But this should not deter you; the history and quiet nature of graveyards are a great way to set up a date.

2. Ice skating has always been seen as a great way to romance your love, and London provides plenty of outdoor options. The moat around London Tower is a great place in the winter to take your loved one on a slow and peaceful skate through some of London’s most scenic areas.

3. Not much of a skater? How about feeding the squirrels over by the Royal Parks, specifically at St. James Park where the squirrels are so used to people feeding them that they are practically domesticated. Here you will have some wonderful photo opportunities in some beautiful surroundings. This is also a great way to show your sensitive side!

4. Take a walk down the Thames River. It may seem cliché, but nothing is more romantic than a simple night walk down the Thames on a fine summer day. Not only will you have great visuals all around you, but you will also have plenty of things to talk about, whether it is with a new date or waxing nostalgically with your lover of thirty years.

I think a date in a graveyard would freak me out a bit! But a romantic stroll along the Thames... that's a different matter!
